Privacy · Draft dated 26 October 2026
Your data and online features.
Pre-release draft. This describes the reviewed frontend features. Core behaviour, provider retention and the final App Store disclosures are still being verified. It is not yet the release privacy policy.
Who maintains DuoPlay
Raymond Delsol maintains this independent adaptation. Privacy and support enquiries: support@raydelsol.uk.
Data kept on your device
Games you import, saves, playlists, settings and optional logs are stored in the app’s container. Files remain there unless you export, sync or otherwise share them. Device backups may also contain app data, depending on your Apple settings. Deleting the app does not delete copies held in backups or online services.
Achievements
If you configure RetroAchievements, the app sends authentication details and gameplay requests to that service, including game identifiers and achievement activity. Account-linked progress and API usage records may be retained by the service. Read the RetroAchievements privacy policy and terms. Disable achievements in the app to stop using the integration; manage stored account data with the provider.
Netplay and chat
Hosting or joining netplay sends session and gameplay information to peers and, where used, lobby or relay services. A public listing can include your nickname, game name/checksum, core and app versions, connection information and player counts. Chat is shared with participants and can appear in logs. Other participants may retain information they receive. Avoid sharing private information through your nickname or chat.
Cloud saves
Cloud sync uploads selected save files and other enabled categories to the storage service you configure. The service receives the authentication and file information needed for this. Saves may contain gameplay progress and names entered in games. Sync is initially off. Configuration files, thumbnails and system files have their own settings; review them before enabling uploads. Disabling sync does not remove remote copies. Delete those through your storage provider.
Translation and downloads
When you invoke a configured online translation service, gameplay image data may be sent to that service. Downloads and service requests expose connection information, including an IP address, to the destination. Retention and processing depend on the service. Do not send screenshots containing private information.
Device permissions
Some cores may request microphone, camera or location input. Permission can be managed in iPhone Settings. The final release review must confirm how each included core handles that input.
Support and deletion
If you email support, your email address, message and attachments are received through the support mailbox. Send only what is necessary to investigate your issue. You can request deletion of support correspondence at the address above. Retention periods and mailbox-provider details will be added before release. Requests about a separate online account or cloud copy should also be sent to that provider.
Advertising and tracking
DuoPlay’s planned release has no advertising, paid upgrades or donation requests. No advertising SDK has been added by this adaptation. The bundled-core audit and final privacy disclosures remain outstanding; this draft does not claim that no data is collected.
